Test Prep services are available to Bloomfield College students, alumni and the community at large.

Attention current BC Students: Please go to the CITEL page after accessing your MyBloomfield Portal Page to receive your code for test prep services (You will be required to present your valid BC ID card at each workshop to verify that you are a current student).

Effective August 1, 2018: All Bloomfield College students will be required to pay a $20 refundable deposit fee to reserve their place for any test prep session. Once the BC student has attended all classes and has completed the test prep session, the $20 deposit fee will be refunded. If the student fails to attend or complete the test prep sessions, the deposit will not be refunded.

Alumni: Please email test_center@bloomfield.edu with your student ID number to request the 30% alumni discount code for test prep services. 

Early Childhood Education (5025): This workshop is designed to help students prepare to take the Early Childhood Education Praxis exam (code 5025) which is required for P-3 teacher certification in New Jersey. The workshop is comprehensive in nature and covers all sections of the exam which includes: language and literacy, mathematics, social studies, science, health and physical education/creative and performing arts.

Course Structure: The workshop is comprehensive in nature and all content areas are explored during the 5 week period. Workshops meet for 2 hours once a week. 

Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects (5001): This workshop is designed to help students prepare to take the Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects Praxis exam (code 5001) which is required for K-6 teacher certification in New Jersey.

Course Structure: Each workshop is focused exclusively on the content of each subtest. Students have the option to enroll in several workshops or only select preparation for the subtest they need.

All workshop series will be offered twice each semester (Fall, Spring and Summer). All workshop series will include:

  • Overview of exam structure and what to expect on test day
  • An explanation of the scoring and retake policy
  • Test taking strategies
  • Exam content instruction
  • Extensive and focused drill practice with professional tutoring and feedback
  • Students will only need to bring a pen or pencil, a means of taking notes, and a calculator for mathematics workshops.
